The hot springs of Balaruc-les-Bains are among the warmest and the most mineralized in the Languedoc Mediterranean region. They contain trace elements that have curative virtues (low sodic-chloride mineral water, rich in calcium and magnesium).

The peloid (or thermal mud) of Balaruc-les-Bains is prepared from sandy marine sediments taken from the Thau estuary and matured in hot springs.
